UniCredit Group Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

UniCredit S.p.A. is an Italian global banking and financial services company. Its network spans 50 markets in 17 countries, with more than 8,500 branches and over 97,775 employees. Its strategic position in Western and Eastern Europe gives the group one of the continent's highest market shares.

A former managing director shares his opinion on indeed.com, "Unicredit has no interest in building a good bank. Short-staffed. Feels like working in a morgue. No innovation. The administration is good, but the overall strategy is a failure. Used to be an awesome place with intelligent management who were innovative."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"HR policy is to reshuffle people around every 2 years, just the time to get professional on a job. International relocations of offices (traders and risk management moved across Milan/Munich/London/Vienna) are often the case to increase costs, worsen work-life balance conditions and please local bosses. Get there only if you have a high-ranking friend OR if you are a junior from CEE (esp. Croatian): only in this case you get a stunning career progression not based on merit. Alternatively, you are parked and nagged till you leave. Gender gap exists: it is generally accepted that men are paid and progress more than women. All past acquisitions leave a heritage of nationalism: Germans never integrated Austrians (HVB + Bank Austria), Italians never integrated Germans (Unicredit + HVB). Bottom line, if you are in the wrong country (and not CEE junior), your chances of survival are slim."

"Fun experiencing the different areas of the bank. Worked on the merger of the Italian branch and the German branch. Encountered many issues which brought about regulatory cross-border issues. Worked well as a team member across divisions."

Oleg Zagaynov says

"My name is Oleg Zagaynov, I am a current employee of UniCredit in Krasnodar (Russia), head of SME. Tell me, who can I contact with questions about incorrect and illegal work with personnel at UniCredit? Or let me know who I can send this email to to change the current situation for the better. On Friday, March 13, 2020, an unpleasant situation happened to me. To my surprise and chagrin, I discovered that my managers were looking for a replacement for me, and then it turned out that they were planning to fire me ... I learned about this by chance from a colleague from another bank, who saw a vacancy on HH.ru (HeadHunter) and called me to find out if I was considering candidates and whether I was ready to invite him for an interview. I was very surprised and asked to send a link to this vacancy, I opened and was stunned, it was a vacancy for my position. I photographed a website with a vacancy on HH.ru and sent the photos to Votsap to my immediate supervisor Stanislav Kopylov (commercial director) and functional manager Denis Shchukin (director of SME). Stanislav Kopylov did not write in response: \"Interesting information ...\" To the question: \"Do you know anything about this?\" He didn\'t answer ... Denis Shchukin did not respond to this message at all, although we regularly corresponded 300 times a day, and when Denis returned to me with new tasks, he said that he would not comment on this situation ... and began to put pressure on me from the position of a leader. .. After that, the vacancy disappeared from the site HH.ru :))) comments \"what was that?\" the leaders did not give ... On Monday, March 16, 2020, through colleagues at the head office, I learned that they were going to fire me, and this decision was made back in early 2020 ... This upset me even more. Nobody warned me or informed me. In addition, at the Road Show, which took place on February 20 and 21, 2020, we agreed with Denis Shchukin and Sergey Sholomov on trusting, friendly relations to implement the SME 2020 strategy. After that, I began to work with even greater zeal, without interruptions from 9:00 until 21:00 and 3 times a week reported on the work done and received positive feedback and suggestions \"Keep it up!\" from Denis Shchukin. In March 2020, the coronavirus epidemic in Russia was only gaining momentum, and employers were only firing employees ... there was no question of suitable vacancies in other banks. Realizing that there is no alternative, my wife and I made a difficult decision: I need to go on parental leave, and she will go to work. This is a non-standard option for Russia))), but it is allowed by law. We have three children, the youngest at that time was only 6 months old, and only at that time I had a source of income. I am very sorry that until now none of my leaders have returned to me with an answer that it was ... I will say more, they did not even call to find out where I disappeared from work))) According to my colleagues who still work at UniCredit, as soon as I return, they will either try to force me to leave, or, at best, they will fire me, as happened with half of my colleagues - SME leaders from other regions. But at least they were warned in advance and paid significant monetary compensation! I am absolutely outraged by UniCredit\'s HR policy towards me! Before going on vacation in March 2020, I wrote a letter to all my managers, including my HR partner Nikita Gorokhov, but there was no reaction. In March 2021, according to the legislation of the Russian Federation, my paid leave to care for a child up to 1.5 years ends, and I plan to go to work. For this reason, I want to know what actually awaits me when I return to work? what should i prepare for? What is the real position of the employer in my work? If I do not receive feedback from UniCredit, I will have to publish information about the situation in the press, social networks, etc. in order to somehow protect my legal rights. I have always had the best opinion about the personnel policy of Unicredit Group, I am sure that it is possible to resolve my issue. The bank should not be allowed to lose the title of the best employer in Europe and Russia due to inept actions of some employees. I used to appreciate any feedback! Best regards, Oleg Zagaynov. P.S. I have saved photos and correspondence, if necessary, I am ready to show you."

Andy Lee says

"Their online bank system is literally a horror. I am finally changing it to Another bank after 5 years of use. Really inconvenient. I hate it!"

Peter Pinkasfeld says

"Warning: Bank Austria is part of Milan's UniCredit. Do not trust UniCredit or any organisation connected to it; I did. & they are making it so difficult ( it is unbelievable)to get it back, everyone including those who should police them said sue, they must know that the public is in no position to take on a bank. They lie even to their country's ombudsman. In 1970 I left money with what was a building society, just lately without even saying so they seem to have taken monthly bank charges. It is like a sadistic joke, also with the way they change the conditions for me to get back my money, even asking me to require another bank to break the European law of privacy, they must know they would not, but have done it twice. Their head office In Italy does not answer. etc, etc. I picketed their London branch, that day someone rated them good for the first time: effectively sabotaging Trustpilot, the only way of getting honest, information on the web. How can anyone who deals with them think them good? not want them closed down?"

Eric Molin says

"I have been a Bank Austria customer for 18 years, although you wouldnt know it by how they treat me. THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL BANK EVER. My representative? Useless. Online banking? Useless. Bank Austria was always a "retail" bank for people who didnt need much, but the service they provide? They act like though their lack of service, they are doing you some kind of favor. Stay away! Go to Raiffeisen, Bawag, or even N26."

Caroline Rose Germany says

"Worst customer service ever!! One cannot call from abroad as they don’t recognize the number & they have got no other method of authentification apparently- totally old-fashioned & unprofessional :( How come other companies such as Paypal/Airbnb etc. have no problem if you call from a different device?! Unbelievable how they treat long term customers- once I’ll be able to return to Austria after the crises I am going to shut my account, safe & cancel my credit card."
